A-List Education Convenes Seminar in Dubai on the Re-designed SAT Exam

A-List Education Middle East in collaboration with Know.Do.Serve.Learn. (KDSL), will host a seminar at the Collegiate American School (CAS) in Dubai from 10:00am – 12:00pm to review format and content changes to the SAT, one of the most popular standardized exams required for admission to United States (US) colleges and universities. The first administration of the new SAT will be in March 2016 and the new PSAT will be introduced in October 2015.

The re-designed tests create new challenges for students and schools. The forum will explain key drivers behind the changes and explore one of the most stressful and misunderstood aspects of the US university application process. Students and parents will review sample questions and learn how to effectively prepare. Educators will discover strategies to integrate relevant content into curricula to improve student outcomes. It will also address how the new SAT compares to the ACT.

Based in New York City with offices in London and Dubai, A-List Education provides bespoke standardized test preparation, college advising, and professional development services. Scott Farber, Founder and President of A-List Education, commented, “I am excited to present at the workshop. The changes to the PSAT and SAT are significant and it’s critical for students, parents, and educators to understand these changes and begin to prepare.”

Kevin Simpson, Managing Director of Dubai-based global education company KDSL, remarked, “One of KDSL’s key strengths is plugging top-tier US organizations such as A-List Education into the UAE to address observed educational gaps. Successfully preparing students to transition from high school into competitive US universities dovetails well with KDSL’s mission.”

Dr. Andy Westerman, CAS Principal, stated, “With the increased focus on student performance for the redesigned SAT coming up in 2016, it’s incumbent upon school leaders to ensure students are prepared to demonstrate the skills in which Colleges and Universities seek in their applicants. I’m pleased that Collegiate American School is able to host such an important kick off of this preparation in Dubai.”

SAT scores are a central determinant of a student’s acceptance at top US universities, with competitive institutions reporting that SAT scores and high school GPAs collectively represent 40-80% of a student’s application.

Workshop registration is free, but space is limited. To register, please email your name and mobile number to register@alisteducation.ae. Directions to CAS are at http://www.casdubai.com/home/.
